OMG man! It’s been a week I’ve reached Singapore; now then I started to blog about my trip! Lousy lah SRI! Ok move on. Beware; it’s going to be a long post.
Day One
Woke up way early in the morning. The bad thing, I lost my precious thing; my knee guard. It took trouble for junjie, faizah, Melati and liyana to search for the pharmacy. In the end, I bought it at the duty free with the help of Astrini. (it was later found that my old knee guard was under my bed!). Upon boarding the plane and after settling down, I sat beside Sabrina. Another bad thing, I had a bad flu. Same goes with Sabrina. But still, we had fun! Food served was delicious. I watched CJ7 for like 3 times?? Upon landing, another bad thing, the air pressure almost killed me! I could not hear anything on my right ear and my nose was blocked and my knee snapped! Again, astrini was there to help me to push the trolleys and faezah for the medicated oil.
Upon reaching the Oxygen Apartment, my roommates and I were set to our own apartment, 185 and off we went. The apartment was huge! Huge bedrooms of 3, huge kitchen, huge balcony! After that, all of us went to the carpark to mantle the instruments. After all those tiring labouring, we were allowed to return to our apartment and unpacked our luggage. My beloved roommates are astrini, bahirah and Diana.
In the apartment, as we are packing, Mr Pow, our CCA teacher, who also our neighbour in apartment 184 came to take a look at the photographs that Diana took from the school camera. The television was on. And it showed American’s Pie Naked Mile. As Diana and Mr Pow were discussing, and astrini and bahirah in their room and myself in my own room unpacking, suddenly Diana run as if there’s tsunami after her. ‘’OMG!!!got porn in the TV!!! Mr Pow watched porn!!!’’ we were shocked in the first place and we were shouting and closed our eyes. Eventually Mr Pow, calmly watched the show and laughed at our stupidity! Eventually after he left and there’s another encore of the show, the four of us actually watched it and burst out laughing!
Day Two
Rise and shine. After getting ready with the instruments, off we went to Kelvin’s Grove School for warm up rehearsals plus Master Class. The weather was as hot as Singapore, but at the same time, it was chilling! So, we are not irritated by the humidity. Our performance was laudable and the kids and high school were so interested to try out the angklungs and kulintangs. Perhaps, this is their first time seeing these instruments. After which, we were to pack the instruments and secured it back to Oxygen Apartment and which means after that is our free time!!! After that, we went for a shopping spree at Queenstreet Mall. With only 3 hours, my roommates and I went about the whole stretch of the mall hunting for souvenirs. There, I bought a lot of things, Cotton On is having sale! And also, I bought Koko and Benny. Eventually we managed to find halal food stalls and had our dinner. We planned to find supermarket as we want to make a cook out. But we were told that the supermarket was far! Eventually the other roommates found a supermarket few metres away from the mall it brought me to madness! So, no ones dares to utter the word ‘’supermarket’’ for the whole trip! Back ‘home’ we quickly try out the clothes that we bought! Haha so jakon! Then we had cook out with the boys from apartment 184! Ok, I was totally stressed up but eventually the two boys, Wan and Hanis managed to prove me that guys could actually cook! Nice cook out people!
Day Three
Morning madness by Diyanah. She opted herself to prepare breakfast for us. As she was cooking, she forgot to on the cooker hood. Thus, the smoke detector rang. OMG another disaster. She was alone in the kitchen wherelse Bahirah and I was in the shower room and astrini still in her dreamland! She was so panic and I think she’s gonna cry at any moment! Luckily Bahirah came to her rescue but just punching the cooker hood button! We then had a practise in the Queensland Conservatorium. The response was laudable and we had an encore! After the practise, we head back to ‘home’ and were to report to our conductor’s apartment for a mini choir session, which means our mini practise. Back to the apartment, we faced something ‘’mysteriously’’. After diyanah unlock the door, we heard a siren. All of us were puzzled. Could it be the cooker hood? Could it be the smoke detector? (Actually it’s the dang alarm clock) the next big thing, we heard someone said ‘’bye’’. I swear I thought there was an uninvited guest on our apartment! (It’s actually kurniawan from the next door!) we were shocked to death that we eventually ran out of the apartment with me only one shoe!
Day Four and Five
Basically we are caught up with performance and master classes. Yes we were tired but we had nothing to complain. And also, we were given free time to roam about the conservatorium. There is a flea market for us to feel the ‘pasar malam’ atmosphere. And there is a south bank river for us to enjoy the scenery! Totally awesome! And diyanah, lesson to be learnt my dear, please SECURE your loose items!
Day Six
The big day! It’s the actual performance. We played about 3 songs and we received laudable applause. Since it’s the last performance made by the seniors, some could not hold back their sadness. It’s heartbreaking to see those shedding tears, but somehow, it’s the fact of life. There will be an ending for all. I may not understand it fully, but I shall experience it someday. Since that was the last performance, all of us went back to the apartment to pack our instruments back to the carts or boxes. It was expected to take the whole night, but we only took about 2 hours! Everyone was on task and carts were easily drilled. This means enough time for all of us to relax for the next outing tomorrow! We even had time to make the second cook out with the boys!
Day Seven
DREAMWORLD!!! All of us were super early, compared to other days. The coach was pleased with our punctuality. Ms Wee was as motherly as she prepared for us breakfast so that we are not famished throughout the whole ride to Gold Coast! Upon reaching there, all of us were still early for some photo taking session. We took a lot of photos until we are allowed to go in. the tour was fun and at last, I managed to pat kangaroo and koala! And after which, we are on our own! The whole day was on our own! Off we went to take all the rides. Well, we did give up as our heads are spinning! So we spent most of the time there shopping!!! I spent most of my aussie money there!
Day Eight
Ok enough, sri! This time you are ready to go back home! All the memories past as fast as a wind! True enough, I’ve learnt a lot of lesson there. I shall not repeat any of those mistakes. I truly love my roommates (awww…) coz they had made my trip there worthwhile. We did face some difficulties like being early or clearing up the mess, but we had fun! If there is any overseas trip, I shall go again!
Apart from this trip, the most thing that I miss most is POKKA GREEN TEA!!!
