MRI scan today. this is the first time of my life doing this scan. it was a vast different than the normal X-Ray. and the price was a burn in dad's savings! to scan just my left knee takes about 2 months of my salary as a part timer! to all who wants to know more about the MRI scan. let me educate you people.
MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging. it is the way of getting pictures of the soft tissues or ligments in various parts of your body. The MRI machine consist of strong magnetic field and radio waves antenna that sends signals which will be converted into pictures.
the process took about half an hour and all i need to do is change into the hospital gown and lay down on the cushioned bed and been pushed into the big machine that totally resembles a coffin. i was given earphones provided with national radio channel because the surroundings of the scanning room was totally deafening! it irritates me when the scanning in progress, the machine produces this thumping noise and i cant hardly heard any music. i was agitated when suddenly i heard a ''Boom!'' while scanning in process. all i could think was the mega machine dropped on top of me! irritating.
i was the only patient that took almost 50 minutes as the radiographer had to perfom the scanning again. i was claimed that i moved my knee and the picture turned out obscure.
"nurulhuda, please dont move. keep still." says the intercom. at last i had to go for 3 times of scanning. itchy knee. i shall know the results after 3 weeks. boredom.
